Bats on the Farm
The Bellevue Parks & Community Service’s are having us out for a Bat walk and presentation at Kelsey Creek Farm in Bellevue. Come discover bats and the importance they play in ecology. After dusk scan the sky above the farm and use a bat detector to see and hear the resident bats. Registration opens on April 7 at 12PM for this event, appropriate for teenager and adults.

Community Science For Bats!
Come be a community scientist! BATS NW and Woodland Park Zoo are teaming up to capture bat information at Green Lake in Seattle. We will be conducting research, recordings and data collection using a standardized protocol and form that provide us and zoo researchers with invaluable species-specific information about where bats are and aren’t living in the city. Registration is required for this event and is TBD. The sun sets at 7:42pm so hopefully the Green Lake sky will have some bats flying above us. Salmon Day at the Mount Vernon Farmers Market
Stop by our Bats Northwest table at the celebration of Salmon of the Skagit River at the Mount Vernon Farmers Market. Many local organizations who work in local Salmon restoration will be there. Also, visit Sammy the Salmon!

Wenatchee River Institute Bat Night with WA Dept. of Fish and Wildlife
Bats Northwest is heading to Eastern WA, for a wonderful family friendly Bat Educational event with the Wenatchee River Institute, WA Dept. Fish and Wildlife and Happy Valley Bats. Come join us in Leavenworth for a bat talk to learn all about bats, their importance, and what we can do to support these animals. The team will be highlight conservation actions you can take; from participating in community science, to making bat houses and improving bat habitat where you live.
Learn about how mist-nets are used by biologists to capture bats in the field, listen for bats with wildlife acoustic technology, learn about bat rescue and rehab, and much more! WDFW biologists will set up some demonstration research stations for participants to see the tools used for bat research. We are providing educational resources and activities.
NCW Woodshop, out of Cashmere will be at Bat Night to show off the Bat Boxes and how they work for bats.
No live Bats will be capture live bats this year due to the dangers of White Nose Syndrome to our local bats.
Age Limit: 8+ years old
Ages 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
Registration for this event is required through Wenatchee River Institute but cost is Pay What You Can.

Snohomish County Master Gardener Exploring Nature for the Whole Family
Bats Northwest will have a booth at Snohomish County WSU Master Gardeners Nature Day on Saturday, June 21 from 10 am–2 pm at Willis D. Tucker Community Park. Come learn about our different Northwest Bat species. The Event its self is sharing information about native plants, pollinators, soil health, and more.

Pollinator Day at the Carl S. English Jr. Botanical Garden at the Ballard Locks
Bats NW is joining in the celebration of Pollinator Day at the Ballard Locks. You can find our table at the Carl S. English JR Botanical Garden. Come learn about NW Bats and how they help pollinate and increase your raise awareness for pollinators and help spread the word about we can all do to help protect them.

Bat Trivia Night at Project 9 Brewing
It’s Trivia Night with a Bat-ty twist! Get ready to put your thinking caps on for a fun-filled time at Project 9 Brewing Company. Let’s see if your the biggest bat nerd in the room. Come have some fun and learn some bat facts that are sure to wow!

We are joining The Pond Beyond to celebrate their Grand Opening. There is fun events and activities all day at this Enviromental Arts & Science Center. So come join us and Tim Noah and have a great Saturday, learning about Bats, Bees, participating in art projects, mask making and more!

Bats, Bats, Bats Workshop at the Tukwila Community Center
Come join us, Green Tukwila, and Woodland Park Zoo for a lively workshop where you’ll learn about our local bat species, discover fun facts, and find your BFF (Bat Friend Forever!) through a fun, fast-paced, speed dating model. Not only will you learn about bats, but you will also find ways to make a difference in the lives of these magnificent mammals. No live bats will be present at this event.
Tukwila wants Bat Stewards:
Are you interested in taking it to the next level? Green Tukwila wants Bat Stewards, folks who report bat sightings over the summer. If you are interested in community science and supporting bats, this is an easy way to get data to the science community. There will be talk more at the event!

Rainier Audubon Nature Festival 2025
Bats Northwest will have a table again at the Rainier Audubon Nature Festival on Saturday, June 7th at Flaming Geyser. Come enjoying the festival’s guided bird and native plants walks, kids activities and then stop by and learn about Washington State Bats and what you can do to create a bat habitat in your own backyard.

Wildlife Coexistence Day
Come join us for Issaquah’s first annual Wildlife Coexistence Day! Bats NW will have a table at this brand new event. 26th Annual Get Intimate with the Shrub-Steppe
Come Join Bat Biologist Bernice Tannenbaum at Kittitas Environmental Education Network (KEEN) for the 26th annual Get Intimate with the Shrub-Steppe (GISS)—a community event celebrating the rare and endangered shrub-steppe habitat of Central Washington. On Saturday, come by our table, which is one of the Hands-on Science Booths at the Yakima Canyon Interpretive Center from 9:00AM-1:00PM, especially if you have any specific Bat questions perhaps you had been lucky enough to have spotted a bat the night before.

Skagit County Master Gardeners Foundation Plant Sale
Skagit Master Gardeners Annual Plant Sale is a nonprofit sale run by the Skagit Masters Gardeners Foundation. Come by our table and learn all about plants and setting up a Bat friendly garden, will you shop the abundance of plants available for purchase during this sales event.

Central Puget Sound: Spring Native Plant Sale
Central Puget Sound Spring Native Plant Sale is a nonprofit sale run by the Washington Native Plant Society. They will have an over 2,000 + of native plants with approximately 100+ species of native shrubs, perennials, and ground covers ideal for Western Washington gardens and supportive to wildlife. So stop by our table at the Bellevue Botanical Garden for some some of Bat favor plants that you can purchase during this sales event.

Mt Vernon Earth Day 2025
We will have at booth at the Mount Vernon Parks and Enrichment Services and Skagit Fisheries Earth Day Celebration on April 26th. This event combines an opportunity to volunteer and give back to the earth with fun games,animal encounters, activities, and giveaways! This event is great for all ages. Individuals, Families, and Groups who are looking for a fun way to engage on Earth Day are all welcome. Look for our Bats NW logo’d pop up tent and come leave all about NW bats!

Skagit County Backyard Conservation Program
Join Bats Northwest for this Backyard Conservation workshop that teaches participants the principles of how to create beautiful landscapes that benefit Bats, humans, and the environment in your own backyard. Each session is open to the public so register today.

2025 Western Washington Forest Owners’ Winter School
Sharpen your forestry education with this all day multiple workshop Winter School. Bats Northwest will be leading a class discussion on WA bats. Winter School allows you to attend six classes out of 23 classes to choose from ranging from address challenges on your property, restore healthy forest conditions, and achieve your goals. Whether you are a novice to family forestry, or your family has owned land for many generations, there is something new for everyone to learn. The registration fee is $20 per individual or $30 per couple from the same household/ownership. Youth under 18 are welcome and may attend at no additional cost. Skagit River Bald Eagle Education Day
Come join Bats NW at the Skagit River Bald Eagle Interpretative Center’s Education Day on Feb 1. We will be giving a presentation on Bats of the NW, so come learn all about Bats and then enjoy an Eagle Tour to better understand the Skagit River ecosystem and winter migration of bald eagles, salmon, and the vital role each play in our environment. Piper's Creek Salmon Celebration
Come on down to Seattle’s Carkeek Park to see us at our table at the Piper Creek Salmon Celebration. Reports from event organizers is that there is a Bonker number of Salmon this year in the creek! Piper’s Creek in Carkeek Park is home to one of Seattle’s most viewer-friendly salmon runs. The event celebrate their homecoming with snacks and hot drinks, music and dance performance, a salmon scavenger hunt for kids, activity booths,& “Bert the Salmon”. Salmon Stewards will help guide you. So come learn about NW bats and join in on all of the Salmon fun.

All About Bats
Join Barbara Ogaard of Bats Northwest and her friends of the night at the Adopt A Stream Foundation’s Northwest Stream Center on the evening of Saturday October 12th.
Barb is know as the Bat Lady. She rehabilitates injured bats for the Sarvey Wildlife Care Center and is a researcher for us. Live bats from Sarvey will also be part of the presentation, along with incredible photo images of bats from around the world and some very cool bat puppets!
